Easter egg hunts slated for Saturday

Easter eggsEaster egg hunts will be the order of the day next Saturday, April 4.

The Jefferson park and recreation department and the Jefferson Kiwanis Club will co-sponsor an Easter egg hunt at the Greene County Community Center for toddlers  through third graders. Registration  will begin at 9:30 am with the hunt going quickly at 10.

Children will be divided by age. Local businesses provide candy and prizes, and every child is guaranteed to receive an egg. The Easter Bunny offers a heads-up to parents: Some of the eggs will contain vouchers  that should be traded for gift certificates at the Community Center desk.

Staff at the Churdan public library will host an Easter egg hunt Saturday at 9:30 am at the library for children through fifth grade. No pre-registration is necessary.

Grand Junction area children are invited to an Easter egg hunt hosted by the  Grand Junction fire and rescue  squad Saturday at 1 pm at the city park in Grand Junction. No pre-registration is required.

Also, Animal Protection and Education (APE) will hold its annual Easter egg hunt for canines at Daubendiek Park in Jefferson. Registration begins at 12:30 pm with the hunt at 1 pm. All dogs must be on leashes, and all dogs and their favorite humans will get goodies.There is a $4 charge per dog, with all proceeds benefitting low cost spay and neuter clinics in west central Iowa.
